About Us


Daniel “Danny” Baldwin is a retired New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Detective, and a former adjunct Criminal Justice professor, with 25 years of criminal investigative experience. Danny is an expert in investigative procedures, interviewing & interrogations, and in the use of force. He possesses a master's degree in Administrative Science and a North Carolina Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate.
Danny has been involved in hundreds of criminal investigations, primarily homicides. His work productivity consistently earned him numerous awards and commendations throughout his career. Danny's most notable investigation is the Charles Cullen investigation. Charles Cullen, a former critical care nurse who was convicted of murdering 29 patients, has been acknowledged as one of America’s most prolific serial killers. For this extensive investigation, Danny received the National Association of Police Organizations "TOP COP" award, the National Association of Black Law Enforcement Executives President's Award, as well as several other premier national law enforcement accolades. Danny was interviewed on CBS 60 Minutes and CNN Headline News, during featured stories about the Cullen investigation. He is also highlighted in a New York Times Best Seller book and a Netflix movie about Charles Cullen titled, “The Good Nurse”.
Danny began his investigative career in 1994 with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office in Newark, New Jersey. Throughout his career, Danny led investigations targeting murderers, mid-to-upper-level gang members, traditional organized crime members, fugitives, and drug traffickers. Danny also has years of experience assisting county prosecutors with litigation preparation for felony cases.
In 2016, Danny retired from law enforcement and co-founded Triton Security & Investigations. Danny served as Triton’s CEO for approximately two years. Under his guidance and leadership, Triton successfully provided physical security for concerts, events and large-scale construction projects ranging from $100 million to $1.3 billion dollars.
In the summer of 2018, Danny relocated to North Carolina. Shortly thereafter, he decided to return to law enforcement and accepted a position with the Duke University Police Department. Danny served as an investigator for this agency, conducting criminal investigations and workplace violence behavioral threat assessments for Duke University and Duke hospital.
In 2021, Danny officially retired from law enforcement with the desired to utilize his investigative skills in the private sector. Danny currently works as an Investigative Consultant for the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children.
